4th of July Cupcakes

I love when a simple idea looks really expensive or complicated. These cupcakes are just that! I bought pre-made white frosted cupcakes from the grocery store and jazzed them up with a little melted chocolate.

I bought red, white, and blue chocolate melts from Michaels and melted them in the microwave. I like to add a teaspoon of Crisco to each bowl. It gives the chocolate an extra shine and keeps the consistency smooth.

Once the chocolate is melted add them to pastry bags and cut the tip.

Then create different shapes on parchment paper. I made squiggly lines, small straight lines and little dots.

With the extras I held all bags in one hand and squirted them in a circular pattern. (Some worked better than others).

Once the chocolate has dried place around the cupcakes and enjoy!
